How Can I Breathe Better Through My Nose?
In the field of nasal surgery, I am well known for my ability to improve or restore nasal breathing – even in some of the most difficult surgical cases. I perform the latest techniques in nasal valve surgery and often teach these techniques to other physicians, both locally and nationally.

Does Insurance Cover Corrective Nasal Surgery?
Most corrective nasal operations performed to improve nasal airflow are covered by insurance companies. We advise patients to research their individual policies, and our office staff can assist in this research. I will see out-of-network patients who require my unique expertise in nasal airway improvement.

How Long Is The Recovery Period?
You will be seen directly by me one to two days after your nasal surgery. I will personally examine your nose and review your post-operative care with you. Approximately one week after your surgery, I will see you again to remove your cast and stitches. Your nose will probably be noticeably swollen for the first two weeks. After two weeks, however, the swelling has usually decreased to the point that it is only noticed by patients themselves and their closest family members.

When Can I Return To Work Or School?
If you do light (office) work, you could return to these activities four to five days after the operation. If you do more physical work, seven to ten days is more appropriate. If you care for young children at home, it is best to have someone available to help with their care for the first four to seven days.

What Are The Risks?
Every type of surgery has risks. It’s my ethical responsibility to educate you on these risks so you can make the best possible decision for yourself while weighing these risks against the benefits of surgery. My training helps me to minimize these risks to the best of my ability, but I cannot eliminate them entirely.

Common risks include stiffness in nasal tip, irregularities of bone or cartilage, damage to internal linings, and infection of stitches.

The risks above are the most common ones that I think you should be aware of, but they are not a complete list of all possible risks. When I see you in consultation and we begin to formulate your surgical treatment plan, I’ll review with you not only these common risks but also the less likely complications that may occur.
