IT'S YOUR FACE. TRUST EXPERIENCE.
Dr. Mobley Is A National Authority On Facial Plastic Surgery

As the only full-time University based facial plastic surgeon in the state of Utah, Dr. Mobley's practice is 100% focused on the face. As an academic surgeon, Dr. Mobley works to distinguish himself amongst his peers. This involves giving instructional courses at national facial plastics meetings; teaching other physicians his surgical techniques; as well as being an invited guest lecturer at other academic institutions.

Dr. Mobley has lectured and taught his surgical techniques nationally as well as internationally. He has written numerous medical articles and book chapters on his innovations. To further the field of facial plastic surgery, as well as to promote the education of other doctors, Dr. Mobley frequently contributes to medical textbooks and journals. Think about it... with his experience, Dr. Mobley is the doctor that actually teaches other doctors.
What Makes Dr. Mobley's Practice Different?
  • When you are contemplating cosmetic surgery, there are some important things to consider:
  • I have focused my education and expertise solely on the face and neck. I don’t believe in doing a little bit of everything, and that benefits you.
  • The quality of the University of Utah is behind my practice. I am an Associate Professor of surgery in the University of Utah School of Medicine and, as such, am actively involved in the training and education of future facial plastic surgeons. I am actively researching and developing new techniques and teaching those techniques to other doctors.
  • Your safety is our highest priority. During your surgical procedure, a Board-Certified M.D. anesthesiologist will be caring for you.
  • I perform all procedures personally. If you come to me, you benefit from my expertise.
  • Surgery is never performed in the office setting.
  • I use only the finest facilities, all JCAHO certified:
    — The University of Utah Hospital
    — Huntsman Cancer Hospital
    — Madsen Outpatient Surgical Center
    — Utah Surgical Center
  • I meet with you personally during your in-office consultation. From the beginning, I want you to feel comfortable with who will perform your surgery or other work.
  • I utilize computer enhancement software, so that you can see what your face will look like after surgery and/or treatment.
  • As a community service, I perform surgery at no cost for women who have suffered facial damage related to domestic violence.
Dr. Mobley's Training & Credentials
After completing medical school, doctors must complete at least one year of additional training before they can become licensed practitioners. In order to be board certified, they must complete residency training in a specialty. ALL accredited residency training is overseen by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).

Checking that your surgeon is ABMS board certified is a very important step in your decision-making, as only ABMS boards regulate accredited residency training. In order to become a Facial Plastic Surgeon, a physician must complete either an Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, & Throat Surgery) residency or a Plastic Surgery residency. After completing residency, they must complete a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship. Only after being certified by either the American Board of Otolaryngology or the American Board of Plastic Surgery (both ABMS boards) and meeting other strict requirements can they apply for certification by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Just like the ABMS boards, certification by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery requires written and oral examination by specialists in this field as well as a demonstration that a significant portion of the surgeon’s time is dedicated to the subspecialty of facial surgery.
